Attaching plastic to Can I use brass fittings to connect plastic fittings and Pex tubing?

  I need to attach the black plastic pieceit to a PEX-A tubing and found this brass part that "fits"fits. Is it safe/won't leak to attach these two parts together? Should I be using Teflon tape or similar?
