Thanks! The cable clips I have are physically large enough for the #6 cable, but I wasn't sure if low-voltage / data straps would be count, given the "approved and identified" language.

I was thinking about hardwiring it, but I was hoping to not pull the trigger on the EVSE until after the inspection, and am unsure how the inspector would feel about me just terminating the circuit into a junction box with some wire nuts. Edit: having GFCI on that honestly doesn't seem terrible, either...

Yep, just bare studs between the panel and where the receptacle will go.

comment Why are these receptacles so difficult to plug into?
@Graham - We can't use the earth pin to open the holes because many US plugs are simply polarized with two prongs. The earth pin is only used in the case of high-powered appliances or things that are double-grounded.

@user71659 - Use the drill on the bolt head, then a wrench on the locknut - no problem.

Hire someone to bring in a camera to explore the pipe? Many dollars. Purchase pipe inspection camera from Costco? $75, last I checked.

Is there a reason you aren't considering using a circular saw? They're cheap and they solve this and many other problems very quickly.
