I started working as a laborer for my stepfather when I was 13 years old and over the past 30 years I've gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience in many aspects of construction including framing, finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, concrete and masonry, and have at least some basic knowledge of just about any other subjects related to building and construction. I'm not currently working in the trades full time but do the occasional side job and always have a couple of DIY projects or artistic endeavors going on that make use of my skills to keep myself busy and productive. There's also never a shortage of friends and acquaintances asking for my advice or help with their own DIY projects, which I don't mind since I enjoy being challenged with different problems to solve and like feeling like I've been helpful to someone.
