Marcel (Writer and Free Thinker at Large) Gagné, as the owner of Salmar Consulting, is a technologist specializing in Linux and Open Source software, Internet security, email, and Web services, including electronic publishing. Marcel and Salmar Consulting created the eBook conversion engine for Kobo Writing Life.
He is a multi-award winning author and columnist, the author of the "Moving to Linux" series of books, and has been a regular columnist for LinuxPro Magazine, Linux Journal, Ubuntu User, and others. Marcel is a public speaker, radio and television personality, and a well known voice in the Linux and open source universe. He created the famous (perhaps infamous) Cooking With Linux which ran for ten years in the Linux Journal. He's also a published science fiction author and editor, a onetime Editor in Chief, a pilot, a Top 40 disc jockey, and I fold a mean origami T-Rex.
