I'm a 60-year-young male who has been involved in the construction, carpentry, electrical and plumbing trades (in varying degrees) all of my life. Knowledge in each of those trades was extremely important to me because they so often interact with each other (as in building a house) - so understanding one helps with the others.
I'm also a very avid do-it-yourselfer and construct many woodworking projects in my shop. Knowing "how" something works usually isn't enough for me - I generally have to know "why" it works that way! That said, I never have a problem disassembling something in an attempt to repair it. (After all, it's already broken, so what's the harm in trying to fix it?!) I've learned a lot by doing that, and my goal is to always learn something new every day.
If I can be of assistance to anyone, I'm very glad to help. Sharing each other's experiences and knowledge is what it's all about!
