Recently somehow our son bed cot was broken and I had to take out the base to see and it had loose stick (don’t know real name) upon opening more it saw it doesn’t have screw to tight it so it can be tightly sitting locked between both frame.

How can I make sure it is strongly holding between the gaps before i put it back again.
