I recently replaced an old bathroom exhaust fan due to how noisy it was, and the new one is quiter, but could be better.

The model is this

Its fitted pretty tightly to the ceiling, and is good without the cover on, however when I attach the cover it doesn't seem to fit tightly enough, leaving a small gap between the cover and the ceiling (and wobbles somewhat when touched) and seems to cause vibration noise. When I press on the cover and push it towards ceiling to close the small gap, it gets quieter.

Any tips to quiet it down? The screws are in )seemingly) as far as they will go.

Add some elastic padding between the cover and the ceiling/base? Perhaps self-adhesive foam stripping. – Daniel Griscom Nov 5 '15 at 22:46
