I have two problems that I believe are related. I have a shower tub combo. First problem: There is a lot of water that comes out of the spout and it is difficult to pull up on the diverter to have the all the water go to the shower head. Typically there is still water coming out of the spout. Second problem: The shower head I have is a combo of fixed and handheld. When it's just the fixed one it's fine but when I either switch to the handheld or have the handheld and fixed both on water sprays out from where the handheld hose connects to the switch. I've tried to seal that connection better but it just makes the water spray out from the switch. In both problems, the water pressure feels fine it's just the volume of water that seems to be the problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

  • You may need to replace the diverter, if it's not closing all the way. Depending on the diverter, you might be able to disassemble it and clean/repair it. For the second part, it's possible that a washer at the connection is either improperly seated, crushed, deformed, or damaged. It could also be that the connection is not tight enough, or too tight. – Tester101 Mar 7 '15 at 16:46
