I have a very tall galkey kitchen, with cabinets run to the ceiling. A library ladder would be an ideal way to utilize this space. I have the skills necessary to fabrcate what I need, but I don't know how heavy the rail and hook setup needs to be. I don't have that kind of engineering background.
Is there some rule of thumb? My guess is 80 percent or more of the weight would be taken to ground via the legs of the ladder.
