I would like to learn how to properly secure an anchor for a zipline to the side of my house and confirm the type of anchor to use. I've read this previous thread but have different requirements.

I am planning to attach it just above the garage door where there are 3 LVL's behind the brick.

For the anchor, I've found a few options; which one is best and how would I go about ensuring it's secured to the LVL's behind the brick?

The requirements are still the same from the other thread. Probably more so because of the LVLs.

  • @AloysiusDefenestrate The OP has a link to another similar question asked by another user. My wording is the problem.

  • Attaching soundly to lvls is just a matter of through bolts that are big enough combined with big washers. That said, did you not get the takeaway from the referenced question that this is a really bad idea? Walls hold stuff up; they aren’t designed to resist pull from the side. • I am not concerned with the wall resisting pull from the side

  • I’m concerned that the OP isn’t concerned. But hey, it’s your house, right? Commented Jul 3, 2023 at 22:16
