Shown is an A/C condensate line from the floor above, that is connected to a cast iron stack via some method that probably isn't play dough but definitely isn't correct. The whole stack is being replaced (it's cracked) including the section connecting to the adjacent basin.

Should I connect the condensate line to the new stack by installing a dishwasher connector under the basin's basket, before its trap?. If it's the right thing to do, it would be easy to divert the condensate into the vanity and connect it there before the trap.

Also incidentally, and I don't think worth a whole new question --- that yellow cable was fished through there. Do I need to attach it to the wall now that I can? Does it matter?
