I have a ½ HP Pentair shallow well jet pump (c48h2ec11c3) installed in my utility room. It is, and has always been, loud. I can hear it run from anywhere in the house.

Almost since the day I installed it I have planned to replace it with something quieter like a low-noise constant pressure system (eg a Grundfos CME Booster). However, I wonder if this is the only possible solution. Recently I discovered the "Fluomac" pump control product and this got me thinking about ways to improve the current pump in situ.

What options are there for reducing the noise that comes from an in-house pressure-boosting potable water pump and what are the pros and cons of each?
