I am resurfacing my concrete walkway with quickcrete recap. After or while I am spreading the mixture on the old surface a layer of scummy yellow liquid starts to rise to the top. I have had this problem with both a soupy mixture squeegee applied and a thicker mixture applied with a trowel. I also get a lot of sandy residue over the surface and on my tools. I did not have these problems when working with either the acrylic patch or the quick dry cement.
Any way to minimize this?
