Adding a basement bath. I'm confused as to when i can tee into the main 3" stack vent. this would then be a properly sized wet stack vent. Assumes minimum unvented horizontal distances for pipe size are observed. Seems fine as long as it is a properly vented through the roof vent. But other diagrams show a separate dry vent from the low drain downstream of the lowest fixture and terminating 6" above the flood level of the highest fixtures. Why? Is it needed only when minimum horizontal distances venting can not be achieved? thanks
