Hello, I just pulled up the carpet in my three seasons porch to put in laminate flooring. The wall against the house has a strip of wood coming out from under the wall panels the width of the wall. It feels loose and is tapered away from the wall.

I was assuming I'd be able to run the edge of the flooring against the wall and use quarter round to hide the expansion gap. Now I'm not sure what to do about that seam. Perhaps create a wide molding to clear the wood and overlap the laminate? Or a laminate end molding along the length of the wall?

Also, I broke some of the concrete when pulling up the tack strip nails. How should I repair?
