I have to source a mixing valve for a shower that is being built. It will probably have a shower head that is at least 3 GPM.

The problem is that as I understand it, most mixing valves on the market in the United States assume a 1.5 GPM shower flow.

Is it possible to get 3 GPM valves in the US, or will I need to look internationally to find one?

  • Most valves made with a tub spout in mind are going to be capable of high flow rates. The shower head is what normally has a restrictor in this case. (I just realized you probably mean a thermostatic mixing valve rather than the visible valve in a shower) – JPhi1618 Mar 1 at 19:21
