I have a fairly new sump pump in my basement. I live in Ohio, we did have a pretty hard freeze recently, I am not sure if it is related. It doesn't run that often ( 2-8 times a day) unless it's pretty rainy. Recently when activated, part of the water seems to be pumped back into the well, part goes up and outside. I've tried to take the propeller off, but the bolt is poorly designed and won't come of. I assume it is reverse thread, although, I've tried both. It is still functioning , but not very efficient. It also stirs up debris in the well, and creates dirtier water. I'm wondering if there is a seal that has been compromised under. I can't find anyone else on the internet with this issue. Thanks for reading!

  • Hello, and welcome to Home Improvement. A picture of the sump and pump would be helpful. And perhaps a few more details. – Daniel Griscom Feb 23 at 22:24
