I have been seeing expanding cracks around my home and slowly widening cracks in my foundation. I had three foundation companies look at it and all three said different things. Excavate front of house, excavate all three sides of house, one said to install steel piers under house. Another said steel I beams to reinforce bowing foundation wall.

All said it was only a drainage issue but a structural engineer told me that the 60 foot oak about 20 feet in front of my house is the problem. Is there any way to definitively tell this? I've had a tree cutting company come out and say that they have no way of telling this for sure.
