Working with a siding contractor installing replacment cedar clapboard siding - he overdrove the nails in a number of places. He is deflecting - telling me this is normal and that the painter will be responsible for filling the holes. Can someone share something "official" that describes how to correctly install this material? I don't think this is right - but wanted a second opinion.

How far are they in? Can you post a picture of some of them? – manassehkatz Jan 2 at 4:31
