I replaced overheated incandescent bulbs in two bathroom candelabra wall-sconce fixtures with LED candelabra bulbs. The screw shanks on the LED bulbs are longer than the original incandescent bulbs. One works fine; one bulb is loose in the socket and flickers. The screw socket of the flickering bulb is stretched allowing the bulb to wobble considerably. The longer screw shank of the LED bulbs keep them from seating at the base of the socket and stabilizing the bulb. Replacing the sockets would be drudgery if possible at all. How can I tighten up the metal socket female sleeve to stabilize the bulb?

squeeze the metal part of the socket to make it slightly oval – jsotola Dec 29 '18 at 19:57
