I am installing a whole house fan in an old bungalow. There are no hallways in our house and there is really just one place that makes sense to install the fan inlet. That location in central and connected to the largest open area of the house. Unfortunately it is above our refrigerator giving the inlet only about 3' of open space below it.

I have read the installation guide and a bunch of other guides and nobody talks about space requirements around the vent. Are there any space requirements for the area around the inlet?

  • It should not be located within 10’ of any exhaust fans/vents, like bathroom vents, kitchen hood vent, etc. – Lee Sam Jul 14 '18 at 5:01
