I made the mistake of accidentally leaving a AAA battery on a quartz countertop. It was apparently slightly corroded and leaked. There was initially residue, which I removed, only to leave a bright white spot in the shape of the battery. The quartz is white with veins, and the discoloration is in the white area, but it is bright white. Is there a way to fix this?

Try putting vinegar on it. Alkaline batteries leak alkaline, not acid. – Harper Jun 30 '18 at 3:56
