The house is surrounded on 3 sides by asphalt right up against the foundation which appears to have been improperly graded, with the grading sloped slightly toward the house on about half the perimeter (front and right sides).
The basement window sills at the front and right sides of the house are completely rotted, there is rot on the siding on the right side entrance and there are some signs of moisture in some of the basement walls.
I'm trying to come up with a solution, but am at somewhat of a loss. My initial thoughts are first to dig a small trench around the perimeter of the house, install channel drains in front of both window sills and around the right side entrance and run that to daylight. Second, install sloped asphalt all around the house where the ditch was dug to send the water away from the house.
Perhaps there is a better solution? :)
