  • Can you include any details? A picture? A model number? – Machavity Apr 24 '18 at 19:59
  • Samsung makes lots of air conditioning units. We'll need the specific model number to be of any help – Machavity Apr 24 '18 at 20:03
  • Actually I purchased the AC long time ago , I lost all the document . But I have given the picture of my AC – Schl....r Apr 24 '18 at 20:06
  • Australia? It's been hot down there. The sound may have been the thermal fuse on the compressing triggering because you've built up too much ice on the coils, so compressor has to work too hard. – Wayfaring Stranger Jan 19 '19 at 20:29
  • It doesn't really matter. Other than replacing the GFCI cord end, there's nothing in a window unit that's user serviceable, nor worth it, even if there was. – Mazura Sep 17 '19 at 2:00

I have found these small "window" units to have several problems that can be fixed DIY I am assuming you have power at the outlet. The first problem is usually the filter is dirty not allowing proper air flow, a good washing of the filter will fix this problem, if the filter was removed and the coil is full of dust causing the problem the unit can usually be removed and hosed down after clean and drip dried many times they will work. The 2nd problem I have seen on older units is that they start icing up once the evaporator coil is covered by ice it can't work properly. Turn the system off and let it thaw out once defrosted the unit will usually work until it ices up again, to reduce icing turn off the unit at night. The iceing is caused by a low Freon charge and it may be cheaper to replace the unit if it is icing or of the compressor has totally failed than have it serviced. Repair work on AC units require a EPA license even for these small units and the gauges & tools needed can cost more than a small unit if the above tips don't restore some cooling. So try these to see if it will work, icing can take ~6 hours to thaw.

  • Today another problem arose that is when compressor tries to start then immediately system turned off – Schl....r Apr 25 '18 at 17:21
  • Almost all small units use 1 motor to run the fans that circulate the air across the 2 coils if the fan is not blowing there won't be any cooling, but it could be an overload on the compressor causing it to shutdown in that case time for a new unit. – Ed Beal Apr 26 '18 at 20:39
