We converted a family room into a bedroom, and the bed abuts three large windows that are single-track with only half-screens, as shown in the pictures.

What options do I have for getting a little better insulation out of these things? I could (I think) buy a half-storm window, and fit it in (the screen is held in with some sort of bar-like spring) but that would only work for half the window. (Which is definitely better than nothing...)

For what it's worth, the screen dimensions are 32 3/4" wide and 25" tall - not sure if that's a standard size.

  • Are you discounting the option to buy new windows? – mmathis Nov 30 '16 at 21:14
  • Well, if it's the best option I'll consider it, but it's not one that thrills me... – Tom Ritter Dec 1 '16 at 0:31
