My basement floor slopes slightly on one small section of the floor.

I was thinking of using self leveling concrete mostly from this post

Basement floor leveling guidance

Is this a good idea? Dolph explained what he did, but no one provided feedback.

Also, if I wanted to put some find of finish on my concrete floor what would I use? My house is very old so the floor isn't much too look at.

  • Basement floors tend to slope for drainage. Have you considered that? – Tyson Nov 17 '16 at 1:33
  • To allow inside water out? As I mentioned, it's only on one small section. I highly doubt the slope is by design. I suspect it's either due to settling or the guys that poured it 100 years ago did sloppy work. – Quirk Nov 18 '16 at 20:53
