Type What kind of gravel toshould I use to "pave" areaspave over dirt/grass and grass?

I want to "pave" a path from our deck steps to a fence gate, and about 200 square feet under the deck, with gravel. Currently these areas are dirt and grass.

Two things I want to consider are

a) avoiding weeds and grass growing in/through it, and

b) I'd like to be able to blow leaves off of it in the Fall (and not have very many leaves get stuck and become very difficult to blow away).

What kind of gravel should I use?

Thanks.
