Dec 3 at 21:48 comment added Matt Fried is my term - he said "seized" and so I figure that meant the valve portion is completely non-functional.

Dec 3 at 19:21 comment added ron you can watch more u-tube's on zone valves, honeywell specific even, manual opening... u said he said zone valve fried which i assume means the head motor is kaput... there is a manual lever on them to open them in which case you should feel a hot pipe before and after the zone valve to verify water is flowing to diagnose. If the actual brass valve part is fried as in corroded and does not open then I can see the cost for pipework, but that much for just popping on a new head motor and connecting wires...well, u be the judge. build back better i guess.

Dec 3 at 19:02 comment added Matt @ron it's in the question - I updated it yesterday. Honeywell. Amazon says it's a $60 part but of course it will be $960 to replace it.

Dec 3 at 16:32 comment added Matt Had a guy out yesterday. He bled the upstairs pipes and told me the downstairs zone valve is fried.
Dec 2 at 21:52 comment added isherwood I gave you my vote for some good information, but "u" isn't a word in English. You should also capitalize your sentences.
Dec 2 at 19:52 comment added Matt Yes there's a tank attached in the system that has the word hydronic on it.
