If you are switching the UPS on, does it always go through a self-test where it runs on battery for several seconds before switching to line power? Does any load remain on it when the UPS is off? The UPS adds both inefficiency and, if it is charging its battery, an additional load.

Jul 22, 2023 at 23:56 comment added crip659 Most breakers should give a few minutes before tripping for overloads(motors take extra starting power). Even smallest(15 amp) circuits should be able to have two PCs, so overloads is far down the list of reasons.
