A couple of "regular" screws in addition to the nails is a great idea. Nails for shear, screws for clamping power. | |
Mar 10, 2023 at 11:33 | comment | added | Ecnerwal | Insert some glue/construction adhesive, pound the nails back in, put a couple screws in from the other side. 3" will stick out the points and bite, 2-1/2" is fine. 2-3/4" if you can find them, but that's not a common size. Nails have more shear strength. | |
