Mar 4, 2020 at 8:19 comment added Hobbes It's not enough to push the snake in and pull it out again. You have to push it in, then use the crank handle on the end to rotate the snake a few turns. Pull back a bit, then rotate again. This will cause the snake to scrape the pipe walls, removing much of the accumulated gunk. When you use the crank handle, you can hear the snake thrashing around in the pipe.
