I am trying to replace pipes and trap in my bathroom sink.

For some reason the drain is connected via a 2in male threaded pvc pipe. On the other end I have a "standard" 1 1/4in metal pipe (non threaded).

How would you go about realizing a p-trap in this scenario ?
