Apr 15, 2021 at 7:53 comment added Harper - Reinstate Monica If you haven't reburied the conduit, you can't pull through it, because pulling forces will make it shift around in the trench, pull expansion joints apart, and other mischief. So the inspector would know you cheated :)
Apr 15, 2021 at 4:15 comment added Andrew Is this going to be enforced by my inspector? I thought I had to have the conduit and cable in the ground, but uncovered and unconnected, for my first inspection.
Apr 6, 2021 at 14:25 comment added FreeMan @Andrew this is why you must assemble the conduit first.
Apr 6, 2021 at 11:41 comment added ThreePhaseEel @Andrew -- it does need to be THWN, but most THHN is dual rated THWN in this day and age. And the isuse with running the conduit over the wire is that it can damage the wire atop making it possible to assemble a run you can't service later due to bends/pullpoint limits and such. (Assemble the run, then run a pulling string through it using a vacuum and a foam "mouse" or plastic baggie tied to the end of the string, then use that string to pull the wires thru)
Apr 6, 2021 at 3:54 comment added Andrew Never mind, I found some. $25/50’ spool of THHN. Does it need to be THWN? So $50 total. Can’t remember how much I paid for the UF-B.
Apr 6, 2021 at 3:50 comment added Andrew Also, I’m a little confused about the wire...I only need about 50’ wire. So if I went with IMC and THWN, I would only need a black and white. I can only find spools of 2000’. Do they sell them in 50’ spools?
Apr 6, 2021 at 3:44 comment added Andrew Ah, good to know. Why can’t I thread the wire through the cable one 10’ section at a time? That was my plan originally.
