(In a pinch, I've done it with nothing more than a utility knife for stripping, punching down, and trimming the cable.) The jacks are always colour-coded and often come with a disposable punch-down tool.
Dec 11, 2020 at 17:27 comment added Suncat2000 I suggest getting an outdoor-rated cable, also. The tougher jacket is more forgiving of abuse during installation. It's easy to find jacks with two female ends if you buy cable with preinstalled male connectors.
