Jul 6, 2019 at 19:57 comment added Harper - Reinstate Monica @RayButterworth "hot" is a slang term, certainly the most common slang term, for energized with voltage. I would call a heated outlet either "warm" or "hot to the touch" or "too hot", in which context would imply I don't mean energized.
