You can test for a voltage too there should be something at least but that does not prove its any kind of useful signal. If you believe there is an issue with the providers cable - then connect your device right at their terminal (using a short as possible 5~10cm cable) in your house, call them out there is a problem. It is up to them then to sort it out if your device has no connection, especially if its a leased device or provided by them | |

I suspect I'm not getting signal from them, but I'd like to be sure. Is there a way with a multimeter to detect: "it's likely cable company signal is present" vs "no signal". Maybe some small AC voltage will be present? | |
