I'm a software product manager who writes code as a hobby.

Currently, I lead the product team at Cantaloupe Systems. We put cellular modems inside vending machines, collect data about every sale as well as machine status and alerts, and then crunch the resulting data in our cloud services to help vending operators know what's selling and what's not, who's stealing from them and who's not, which machines need to be refilled and when, and much more.

It's NM cable. The fixture itself has no ground wire because it's one of those all-plastic luminaires that have no exposed metal parts.

yep, this is exactly the bulb I have. If the halogen dimmed gradually as the CFL warmed up it'd be perfect, but with the sudden dimming it looks really bad-- like a broken bulb. Too bad, it's a nice concept, but poorly executed in this case. Thanks for the answer!
