Should I continue my basement subfloor under the stairs? @DA01 I've read about people using a landing, and inspectors approving it. However it's only going to cost me ~$50 to rebuild these stairs and it gives me the chance to insulate the slab underneath them. As for shimming each step, that sounds like at least as much work as rebuilding them. |

Should I continue my basement subfloor under the stairs? I wasn't that clear, but yes, I'll be making new stringers and risers. Just wanted to make sure the subfloor won't have any problems supporting the stringers when a couple big guys are carrying heavy furniture down the stairs. |
