comment laminated flooring vs OSB
@diceless thank you for your input, I'm going to look more into foam pads, we use some insulation layer of some kind, not clear what.

@DMoore can you guy provide a bit more information? in my mind: touching an ice cube is unpleasant for long period of time, now, if we put a sheet of OSB between our body and the ice cube, it should make a difference; in other words, I'm prepared to replace the OSB flooring every 5 or so years if the heating bill is impacted positively; one more thing, if OSB isn't really an option, is laminated flooring a better alternative, if so, why? thank you!

@DMoore not sure about the kind of concrete, but it's the basis of our floor in our house -- not apartment, nor basement

@diceless haven't considered that, maybe glue to the concrete or drill and use some kind of screws?

thank you Justin, but this solution was not viable for me, not enough material, see comment on mike's answer

thank you mike, the material is solid oak, damn hard to cut using hand saw, took me about 1.5h to make a 300mm cut into the 18mm thick oak, I'm using 50mm L-shaped steel holders, 2 on each 400mm side, from what I can tell, it's very sturdy, also, in the back of the table I'm using 2 x 10mm steel U-shaped in parallel -- it can hold up to ~55Kg/22cm, so far so good (:

comment How to clean PVC Window “inside”?
I don't have to drill holes, there are already there, the question is, how to clean and dry them?

comment My house was hit by lightning. What should I do?
My best advice would be to find a way to put a lightning protection on the building(kinda' like an antenna, it's quite expensive ~$3,000.-- but worth every penny) ASAP, this time, you were lucky no one got hurt, next time it may be worst...

@ChrisF thank you, I'll pay a PVC company a visit tomorrow, this is really frustrating, never had issues like this with wooden windows, you just paint them when you need too and it's all good ): but from what I read, if PVC's aren't mounted good, or aren't taken care of, or if you have bad isolation in room, and probably many more, it's going to get nasty!!!
