comment What alternatives do I have to cap/plug the kitchen spray nozzle
Thanks for the suggestion(s) - I think that is what I am looking for. Unfortunately I don't have the model number. It is a seasonal camp in VT and I live down in NY. Did not get the model number when I was up last. I also did not see a connector for the hose - that is my problem. Perhaps I missed it. I might have to cut the host and plug it.

Thanks. I've always been able to make good joints when doing house plumbing - the problem arose because these were many joints all in a 2 foot square area and no way around doing both sides of a The problem is that there was no way around wet fitting some joints all at once. I have to rebuild this from scratch

comment What flux should I use for copper that will be used for food prep?
I am talking about 20 feet of copper tube with about 50 joints in it. The insides of the pipe look black and nasty. There is a film on them. At the very least this imparts a flavor and odor. I will try rinsing with hot water. Thanks

How would the pipes get any hotter than 212F?

Oh - it is a "preheater" for a maple syrup evaporator. See links in my edit for details

All my plumbing pipes (copper) are soldered - but I drink water from them. I am not trying to be argumentative - but what about the solder is unsafe? It is all lead-free now.
