comment How do I know if my power drill needs to rotate clockwise or counter clockwise to drill forward?
@supertonsky: Yeap, the manual is right (and the drawings in it are correct), but the drill case has letters R and L swapped. Excellent video btw.

comment Is it safe to cut throught a 70mm spruce beam with a Metabo jigsaw?
@Antoine: The problem is likely with the wet chips getting stuck inside the cut - you could pause cutting, retrieve the jigsaw, then put it back and continue - that should help remove the wet chips.

Photos from like 45 degrees angle would be useful to estimate the damage.

comment How important is circuit breaker breaking capacity?
"Can be directly related" is a buzzphrase to me. Can I be directly hit by a lightning? Yes, I can. Am I scared to death? No, I'm not.

comment Do you really *have* to mortise for hinges and other door hardware?
@Steven: Great, but this assumes you're willing to tolerate the gap as wide as the hinge plate thickness which is usually used to accomodate future paint.

comment Do you really *have* to mortise for hinges and other door hardware?
@EvilElf: You'd have to make them with ultra precision for that. Usually they are a bit larger so that the hinge is easy to insert and then all the load goes to the screws.
