How can I reduce the bounciness of a floor? If you build the minimum required by code, it's easy to get a floor that is bouncy, especially if spans are long. If you don't move, you will eventually get used to it. |

How do I take apart a wooden pallet without cracking the wood? Pallets are great for a lot of projects, but in my worldview, they're better if you can use them whole. If you are disassembling them, you should buy lumber instead. |

Can I run a single 12 guage wire outside of 12-2 to provide power to a fan? I think you're asking "Can a 12/2 cable plus a single 12AWG conductor work be treated as a 12/3 cable?" I assume you're asking about using the same ground and neutral conductors. I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes" but I don't have a code reference. |

What size gravel works best for a driveway? After clearing for my driveway we put down "3 inch minus". This is important for providing a stable base on our loose, clay-rich soil. After driving on it for a while, it packed down well. I was told we could put down some "3/4 inch minus" for a nicer finish, but haven't done that yet. Some hardware cloth might be a good idea, too. |

Can I upgrade my garage to 20amp service without a headache? Use 10AWG or thicker, and put a subpanel in your garage. From that, you can run whatever you want, on as many circuits as you want, with less voltage drop, faster motor speeds, and less heat/wear on the motors. |

What wires do I need to run to my wall mounted tv? Conduit is your best bet. Baring that, you can carry most signals over 1 or 2 Cat5e, and they're cheap, so you can put 2-4 of those in. |
