@oscilatingcretin - That's why they call it "the throne".

comment Can I run CAT5/6 cables parallel to electrical cables?
The actual separation is about 4-inches, iirc. This information can be found but it's been a while since I installed mine. You can run data cables closer but only if they are perpendicular to the electric lines. Of course, the farther away the better.

@ComputerSaysNo - I've heard them called "lightning attractors" lately. Not sure how good an idea they are anymore.

comment How to prevent wall-mounted TV above fireplace from getting hot?
@amh - I'm pretty sure it was just a standard wood mantle. Now that I think of it, I believe it was something I saw on one of those home improvement TV shows and they specifically mentioned the heat problem.

comment Why can't the plumber fix my kitchen sink?
You take the trap apart under the sink and clean that out as far as you can. 5 minutes? Maybe you can snake to the stack. Another 5 minutes? Still won't drain? You're done without any other tools or climbing on top to check the stack from the roof. What was he doing the other 2 1/2 hours?

The actual name is "wire nuts" or connectors and is my preferred method. And "lose" is spelled l-o-s-e.
