There are products specifically designed as "extension cords" for in-wall applications like the "INWALLKIT" by APC (white or black face plates). They cost more than getting good wiring installed though. |

How do I wire an old house with Cat6? That said, hardwired means no interference issues. When your neighbours all keep cranking up their broadcast power on their routers, your networking works just fine on CAT5/6. |

In this scenario is my electrician giving good advice? As a home owner with a classic fuse box, I highly recommend fuse breakers -- individual push-switch breakers in the shape of fuses. They save a lot of effort on replacing fuses on circuits that have overload issues (like the kitchen). |
