comment What kind of foundation should I use for this garden shed site location?
@HenryJackson Updated the post to include climate information. I agree that a poured pad is a little much. I don't want the shed to move but budget is also a concern so I'd like to be as cost efficient as possible. I'd like to shed to be there for the long term - at LEAST 5-10 years.

comment Does water-based paint expire?
How was the paint stored through the 6 years? Did it experience high heat or freezing temperatures? What are you planning to use it for?

comment How do you disconnect a TV cable that runs all along the walls throughout the house?
Can you elaborate on some details? Where are you disconnecting it from? What is the end goal? Depending on what you want to achieve, you may want to leave the cabling itself for other TV service to user later.

Thanks. Yeah, the unit we're looking at has a blower in it.

comment How long do batteries typically last in electronic deadbolts?
Just a quick follow-up to this post. We've had this lock for over 2 years now and it's still going strong (with the stock batter). Since the bolt is turned by hand, I think it helps conserve battery life.

comment What type of window is this and how can I remove it with minimal damage to the wall?
On a side note, we tried chipping away some of the stucco and don't see any fins. Maybe we didn't dig deep enough.

Fair point. I guess I'm a little concerned about removing the old window and not having the right new window to take it's place.

comment What type of window is this and how can I remove it with minimal damage to the wall?
@mikes That's the thing - I don't see any nails or screws in the window tracks. I'm not sure I understand the other part of your question. The house has wood framing with stucco on the outside.

comment Is it safe to use a portable microwave in a confined shelfspace?
Right - no new enclosure. Just putting it in a cupboard shelf that already exists. Good points though. Thanks!

+1 for everything, especially the note about unhappy spouses. Happy wife = happy life. :-)

comment How can I remove skunk smell from house?
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. It seems like the mixture helped. From what I understand, it forms an alkaline peroxide that breaks down the oil. I'm also trying leaving bowls of vinegar out which seems to have helped (either that or at least distract the senses while cleaning).

@DA01 Would that be at a county level?

comment How can I fix my leaky bathtub faucet with minimal damage to the wall?
@Tester101 unfortunately there's a bathroom shower on the other side. Thankfully, the plumbing for the other shower doesn't share the same wall. So there's basically just tile in the place I'd need to be. Hope that makes sense. =)

comment How should I fill in decorative “gashes” in wood siding?
Thanks @ShirlockHomes. After doing this, I'm likely going to want to paint over it. Will I need any special paints to work with both wood and the filler?
