comment Is it expected for an empty house to use 14 kWh per day?
@derekhh in that case, I'd start turning them back on one by one, and seeing which one(s) make the usage go up. You'll probably find one of them powers something you didn't think of, like an electric towel warmer, or a whole house fan in the attic. Or maybe a secret grow op hidden behind a false wall.

Does it happen anywhere on the frame? Or just some areas? A sensitive enough tester would certainly "see" the wiring behind the case.

@zaz and if you are still not sure, add a picture of the actual terminal block and screws.

comment Connecting an oven
@zaz if there is already a connection between the 3 left screws, and another between the two left screws, it doesn't matter which of the screws in each set you use.

comment How to check the power capabilities of a house?
@Nerrolken most DJs would know what they need in both watts and amps. If not there are simple calculators online. Its just Watts=Volts*Amps

comment How do I properly size a 120v inline power relay to control a small air conditioner with my home automation system?
Unless your AC has entirely physical controls, this isn't going to work well - it will lose it's settings when it loses power. Many also don't come on automatically after losing power (which helps prevent problems from everyone's AC coming back on at once after a blackout).

comment Circuit breakers off, but meter still running
If the display on your meter is broken, that is probably reason enough to ask them to repair or replace it.

comment Outlets that seem to be on same circuit, but not behaving that way
Also, how many receptacles total? Are you sure they are all in the kitchen? And is it a double breaker with 2 handles tied together?

The temperature control is the big black knob at the bottom, mounted on the rectangular box.
