If it involves computers or electronics, I probably do it.

I have experience with Exchange, Sharepoint, Zabbix, Powershell, Hyper-V clusters, and a whole host of other things.

This...doesnt make any sense. The AC unit is reversing the current? So it turned into a generator?

comment What could be causing this strange behavior of a branch circuit?
Please call an electrician before you burn your uncle's house down. It really sounds like you do not understand electrical wiring enough to safely repair this.

comment Electric line to subpanel
Are you sure you mean 100 watt? A lightbulb doesnt usually require its own subpanel...perhaps you mean 100 amp?

comment Can I use a split tab switch for mains voltage and low voltage?
The downside to wiring it with regular NM cable is that when the nexy guy comes along to replace that switch, they will probably assume its 120V, and wire it up in a way that blows up the fan's electronics.

comment How can I safely have 2x 7kw/32amp electrical vehicle chargers connected to my consumer unit? (UK)
@Dannytuppeny I would still get them both installed while the government is footing most of the bill. You might be able to use them both at the same time, you might not. But if you are getting them both cheap, at least you have a spare if one breaks, and you have the option of upgrading your electrical service later to handle both.

If I were going to redesign it, I'd have it installed like the first photo, but the curled bit at the end either split off so there's one on the top and bottom, or larger so it covers both sides. That way my hand doesn't slide off no matter whether I push it up or pull it down.

I realize the second image is taken at a different angle, if that's what you mean. The pivot point of the handle and the curled ball at the end make a roughly horizontal line in either orientation. Doesn't change my answer. The orientation in the top image means I don't have to rotate my wrist as far.

comment electric shock from brass light switches
@alibali if you touched both at the same time and got a shock, it is possible there is a fault that might not shock you if only touching one, but can if touching both. Since such shocks would run between each arm and potentially though your heart that could be quite dangerous.

comment Independent circuits on a common trip CB
I'm not a code expert so I wont post an answer - but I would assume it is allowed. If you have two independant circuits that share a junction box somewhere it would improve safety - since someone cant turn off just one of the curcuits feeding that box and still have the other energized.

comment 1948 fabric sheathed outlet wires, can I ground to box?
@bpearr without a ground back to the panel, connecting it to the box doesnt help at all. It wont hurt anything, it just wastes a few inches of copper and your time.
