How should I tidy up loose speaker wires? The brush wall plates are great. Alternatively you could get one that has speaker wire clamps to make the speaker easily detachable. |

How can I install a new bathroom GFCI receptacle? GFCI outlets do work without a ground connection. You are supposed to label the outlet as "no equipment ground".www.mikeholt.com/mojonewsarchive/All-HTML/HTML/GFCI-Receptacles-Without-Ground~19991230.php |

Why does my toilet randomly start running? So if there was a small leak of water running from the tank to the bowl, it would keep leaking unnoticed until the float gets low enough to open, then suddenly fill back up, right? |

Is it reasonable to create a 30amp branch circuit for the purpose of feeding the panel from a generator? +1 for doing it right. It might cost a bit more, but gives a LOT more safety - people might not read the placard in the dark in the middle of the night when they just want power. |

Can I add a standard receptacle on a GFCI circuit Are there any safety issues chaining GFCI's off each other, or just a risk of nuisance trips? |

Can I install data wiring in a clothes closet? Depending on how long the cable would need to be, you might want to consider leaving the modem where it is, or putting it as close as possible to where it enters the house, and running ethernet from there. Long cable runs can significantly reduce signal quality and make for a slow or flaky internet connection. |

Why does my pool pump keep tripping the breaker? Something about this tells me you don't really understand how breakers work - and if that's the case, please call an electrician before you hurt yourself or others. Electrical for wet locations like a pool needs to be done properly, or not at all. |

Why does voltage still exists when a circuit is broken by a 3-way switch? I got similar results recently testing with a regular volt meter and no load - the voltage goes away once you put any sort of load on it. |

How can I determine why my lights are flickering? There are electrical testing screwdrivers with a neon light that lights up if you touch them to a live wire...hopefully he means one of those, and not "tested to see if there were sparks". |
