comment How can I determine what type of washer/gasket to use for an antique shower?
@bib - you would think that someone would be forward thinking enough to stock pile some of these babies 13 years before tea party. I am about 30 mins from the Boston Harbor to boot :)

So two washers on the water taps might be ok? They look fairly new and I suspect that this was done prior to sale to fix a worse leak than we are noticing. Should I go with a thicker set up? after all, it is still dripping with the curent config.

I will have to check the weight. I can't really move it. It will need to be centered over the sink and the studs are not wood the're metal studs. But great info!

The wall is in good shape. I figured I would ask due to the two small ears that will be behind the sheet rock.

upvote for you input - Would running them through a planer be an alternative? As the room is open to the kitchen and a stairway, it will be difficult, but not impossible to mask off. Thats why I was thinking about having them at least refaced off the floor. They have a finsh coat of something on them(not sure what they used back then). So not sure if it would burn out blades along with mikes's comment on wood hardness being this old.

comment Troubleshooting a leaking exterior door
Worth a try. I think I can block up the room pretty good with the plastic. Is there a special smoke maker? Is it like a stick or something? Can i get it at the hardwarestore?
