@longneck just curious, what was the end result? did your 2 cycle engine survive the abuse?

thank you for your response. Did you mean to say "no the two stage will not give..." in your second paragraph? For the record our system does not have dampers as far as the HVAC rep and I saw, but thats a helpful reminder none the less

@Ecnerwal The HVAC guys didnt say the duct work is 'defective' so much so that its just old, and 'this is how they did homes in the 70s'... A few did mention I could do two systems, but that is out of our budgetary allowance. At this point its simply a question of which will do better given our existing setup, single our dual stage.

@Tester101 I added the square footage. Let me know if youd like me to add more.

Unfortunately this is not an option because the duct work is split in many different places as opposed to a few central locations.

comment Basement drain without a trap
how can you tell if you have a "floor drain to soakaway"? could you expand on why you might have a soakaway instead of it draining to septic/sewer?

comment Is this a drain cover or an electrical outlet cover?
Im no plumber but in addition to the other clues to it being an outlet, a drain should be flush with the ground, not above it by half an inch.

comment Is it possible to convert a switched light into an unswitched outlet?
Great answer. I would add my vote to leaving the switch. The security of garage door openers can be weak goo.gl/2pcRPq and having the switch there enables you to make your home a little more secure when you go on vacation or will be out of the house for a while.
