How do I remove a bolt that's stuck in a ceiling junction box? I think the problem is not the bolt, but the nut on the end of the bolt. Can you describe the issue more? Is the nut frozen, or the bolt spins around when you twist the nut, or you cannot get a good grip? |

How do I re-attach my kitchen cabinet's laminate? I ended up using some spray-on contact adhesive, I peeled it back without detaching it completely, sprayed it in, waited for it to get tacky, then pressed it down. Not a bad fix, although the contact adhesive got pressed out of the seams and made a mess. |

Why does the water pressure in my boiler go up so high? What is the highest boiler pressure you are seeing? Is it causing the relief valve to trip? |

Is it feasible to use a work bench without a vise for woodworking? I hope this forum can put your mind at rest @LuizBorges. |

Why is it taking so long for my house to heat up? I'm not a heating expert, however my understanding is that there should always be inhibitor added even if the system is clean. One of the reasons it is clean is probably that inhibitor was added last time! I'd get a different heating engineer in @dty as I'm not sure you're getting good answers from the one you've got. |

How do I fix a sticking toilet refill float? @maxedison, thanks for that update, it's good to hear what really happened. Sorry it didn't work for you, sometimes things just can't be fixed. |

Is it dangerous to run electrical cords through heating vents? I agree, this is the worst idea he could come up with. You tell him that you use the bathroom too and to get those things out of there as you don't want to end up as a Darwin Award. |

Is it OK to strip a wire in the middle for attaching a fixture? Well done on making the right call. It's probably not to code anywhere anymore, and wire nuts are a better option all around. |

How do I measure a standard sliding glass door? I agree with Shirlock and Gunner, get the contractor to do the measurements. Don't buy a door yourself at auction, you are asking for lots of headache! |

How do I remove blown in attic insulation? Fiasco's right, there's no easy way to do it. Remember to wear a mask and eye protection for all the dust if you do decide to pull it all down. If it was me I'd find a way to live with it if possible rather than attack that job! |

How can I counteract the effects of WD-40? WD-40 is also corrosive and will tend to make things worse, another reason to wipe it off! |

How can I purge air from a baseboard heating system with the spigots on the wrong side? @BMitch, that should be an answer, not a comment. I totally agree, he shouldn't need to add anything in order to bleed the system. |

Can anything interesting be done with Kidde's interconnect wires? The answer there is to get it fixed, not to mess around with it. Maybe the question you should be asking is how you can stop it going off for the wrong reasons. Try vacuuming them out and replacing all their batteries first would be my advice there. |

Can anything interesting be done with Kidde's interconnect wires? My advice would be to not mess with your smoke/CO2 detector system, your life depends on it working. |
