How do I attach a receptacle box to brick instead of a stud? yes, i understand. I was just going to shove a shim in there to make it all line up right. |

How do I attach a receptacle box to brick instead of a stud? yes to all of those questions. But the studs are rather narrow, so the box itself is almost flush with the plaster (outer surface) when it is in the wall. |

Can I use old abandoned iron pipe as electrical conduit? It is black iron pipe. I would say about 1/2 inch inner diameter. The outside of the pipe is in good condition (still black, no rust). I am not so sure about the interior. |

Do I have to staple romex to the studs behind the wall? yeah, I've dropped a weighted string from top to bottom in several places with zero obstruction so I am pretty sure that the wall is completely empty. |
